Hogwarts Legacy features numerous hidden side quests that challenge players to decipher cryptic maps and explore distant corners of the open world. One particularly memorable mission is Well, Well, Well, which begins when players encounter a talking magical well with a parchment stuck inside. Deciphering the treasure map provided by this magical well leads to a valuable reward hidden deep within the highlands.
Finding the Talking Magical Well
To start this unique side quest, players must head to the South Hogwarts Region located southeast of the hamlet of Aranshire. Hidden within a small valley near the mountainside, the magical well will call out to approaching witches and wizards. Interacting with the well allows players to remove the parchment, revealing a sketched treasure map.
The map displays a rough illustration of a ruined castle, a connecting stone bridge, and a solitary tree surrounded by stone walls. While the sketch offers visual clues, pinpointing the exact spot without knowing the surrounding landmarks can prove challenging. Taking time to study the surrounding landscape helps narrow down potential destinations.
Navigating to the Treasure Location
The location depicted on the treasure map is situated in the Feldcroft Region, far south of Hogwarts Castle. The quickest way to reach the site is by fast traveling to the hamlet of Irondale and mounting a broomstick. Flying southwest toward the coast reveals ancient cliffside ruins that match the sketch.
Upon reaching the ruins near the coast, players will spot the stone bridge crossing over toward a small island. A prominent tree sits in the center of the ruined stone walls, matching the drawing on the map. Approaching the tree confirms you have found the correct destination.
Unlocking the Hidden Chest
Unlike standard treasure hunts that involve searching ground surfaces, this chest requires a specific spell to uncover. Targeting the central tree and casting Levioso or Wingardium Leviosa causes the tree to levitate into the air. Lifting the trunk reveals a hidden chest entangled within its root system.
Opening the chest completes the quest and rewards the player with 400 gold alongside the Treasure-Seeker's Bicorne Hat. Completing this task also provides valuable experience points toward character progression. It serves as a satisfying reward for solving one of the game's more mysterious map puzzles.
